Robeez Footwear Ltd employing about 300 workers, making soft-soled, slip-resistant leather footwear for babies and young children has been sold to an American rival Stride Rite Corp.
The US competitor has purchased it for Cdn$30.5 million.
Stride Rite will be taking a detailed look at the company before deciding whether it will remain in Canada for a longer term.
The owner and its employees, plan to stay on with the new company under the new ownership.
