Klaussner Furniture to merge its product lines

Klaussner Furniture Industries, a private company with 7,000 workers is one of the biggest furniture providers in Asheboro, USA.

It has decided to merge its product lines and production units to use its factories better and increase working hours.

This will result into loss of jobs, but soon it will open new vacancies, most of which will be reserved for present employees.

Consolidation will start this month and end by January 2007 as stated by the company.

In a unit at Klaussner's Lewallen Road corporate complex in Asheboro, the leather products line will be combined with the textile products line.

Distinctions textile line will be merged with Distinctions leather and wood product lines at one facility.

Reclining products line currently operating in north Asheboro will be relocated to Lewallen Road complex.

Swatch production project in Iowa facility will be relocated to Klaussner's automatic fabric cutting plant in south of Asheboro.
