DuPont Filaments announced that its global operating companies will implement price increases for their nylon 612, nylon 610 and polyester monofilaments effective January 1, 2007, primarily for the Oral Care segment and for other market segments as well.

The increases range from 6 percent to 8 percent for widely used grades; higher percentages may apply to some specialty products.

Continued rising costs of raw materials, energy and labor are driving this increase of DuPont Filaments' prices. DuPont remains very committed to this business and industry. These price increases enable DuPont to remain a sustainable filaments supplier in the future.

The increases apply to all brands of filaments. They cover DuPont Tynex and Herox filaments for toothbrushes, DuPont Tynex for paintbrushes and cosmetic brushes, DuPont Chinex and Orel filaments for paintbrushes and DuPont Tynex A abrasive filaments for industrial finishing and floor cleaning.

The regional operating companies that make up DuPont Filaments are DuPont Xingda Filaments Co Ltd in Wuxi, China; DuPont Filaments-Europe BV in Landgraaf, The Netherlands; and DuPont Filaments-Americas, LLC in Wilmington, Delaware, USA.
