Premium cotton shirts maker opens new woven factory in Gaomin

Multi-national textile manufacturing company Esquel Group Chairman Marjorie Yang presided over the official opening of Esquel's new woven factory in Gaoming on October 20.
Mr. Cheh, Vice Chairman of Esquel Group welcomed the VIPs and guests to the ceremony after a traditional Chinese Lion Dance. Several officials from the central and local Chinese governments gave speeches to mark the occasion, praising Esquel on its achievements and congratulating them on the opening of an innovative and technologically advanced new factory.
Ms. Yang's speech was preceded by a performance put on by the local kindergarten. Ms. Yang linked the factory opening and the children's performance by highlighted the need to ensure the welfare of its employees and protect the environment. She emphasized that we need to do this for the future of our children.
The speeches and ribbon cutting was followed by a short tour of the impressive facility which has a floor space of 120,000 square meters and is equipped with the most technologically advanced machinery available.
Construction on Esquel's new woven factory started in 2004. It is built on a parcel of land with an area of 150,000 square meters and is equipped with the best machinery from around the world. This includes yarn dyeing equipment from Italy and Switzerland, weaving looms from Japan and Italy and finishing equipment from the top names in Europe and Japan.
It has a capacity of 3.5 million yards ofcotton yarn dyed fabric a month. Combined with Esquel's existing woven fabric capacity, the total of 90 million yards a year.
