ShopKo announced it will be building an 80,000 sq. ft. store on eight acres north of the Green Bay Metro market in Suamico.
“We are extremely excited to make this announcement of a new ShopKo store in this rapidly growing corridor of the Green Bay area,“ said Mike MacDonald, ShopKo Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. “We believe this signals that ShopKo is ready to begin its next growth phase.”
The store will represent the new prototype retail store that ShopKo intends to build in the future. All other area ShopKo stores are expected to remain open, including the ShopKo Express Rx store located in nearby Howard, Wis.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2007. The new store will be part of a 28 acre development being led by Midwest Expansion. The store is projected to open in the spring of 2008.
