Michelle Lau found that the batik business is very challenging and competitive and started the business, under the brand name of Meesha Sukira, is currently operating at the PJ Hilton hotel. She is also designing fabrics under the label.
The designs of Batik at Meesha Sukira are exclusive and available in one-piece-per-design and in one colour only. The label has also participated in several exhibitions organised by Matrade.
The factory, showroom and corporate office are situated on 3,000 sq feet of land. The factory will start in March and the showroom will be opening in April.
Michelle Lau is also planning to open an online web store.
