For further value addition and in order to achieve full integration, the management has decided to go one step further – to foray into processing and the garmenting. Processing is the next stage and is also considered to be the heart of good fabrics. The Company has decided to set up a fabric – processing & yarn-dyeing unit with the capacity of 10 Mts & 5 Mts per day, respectively.

The Company has acquired controlling interest in one kid-wear manufacturing company from Bangalore viz. 'First Steps Baby-wear P.Ltd., Bangalore'. This subsidiary company manufactures high quality baby wear garments, which are exported to well known brands like ZARA, WAL-MART, H&M, MOTHER CARE etc.

The ready-made garments industry is highly fragmented with a few organized players and large number of unorganized players. Though price competition is intense, the organized segment is relatively less competitive and buyers are less sensitive to prices, as purchase decisions are based on brand preferences and that too for quality products.

The Company has now decided to launch the garments in its brand name viz. 'OZARIO'. The apparels, baby wear garments etc. will be sold in the domestic as well as in international market through various distribution channels, under this 'OZARIO' brand name. The distribution channel in the domestic market, at the moment, is planned to be through multi-brand outlets. Shortly the Company will concentrate the distribution through its own stores and retail outlets.

“Vertical integration” appears to be the only mantra to sustain the post-MFA quota regime. R.M.Mohite Textiles Ltd., is one such textile company, which is planning to vertically integrate itself, apart from augmenting its existing capacities to reap the opportunities.

Mr. Dilip Mohite, CMD, of R.M.Mohite Textiles Ltd, says, “Our principal operating strategies are to increase our presence in the yarn, fabric and also in apparels / garments business and become an integrated textile manufacturer of the global standards. He further mentioned that for F.Y. 2006-07, the annual turnover under textile operations of the Company, crossed the remarkable mark of Rs. 1000 million.”
