W.I.L reports 33% rise in sales

W.I.L. the flagship company of the $ 1 billion Welspun Group; winner of the coveted Sustainability Award (Wal-Mart Stores Inc.) and the 34th mid-sized Company in India (Business World – July 2007), reported a 33% percent rise in sales at Rs. 2,647million in Q1 FY '08 as compared to Rs. 1,987 million in Q1 FY'07.

EBITDA reportedly grew by 32% to Rs. 491 million. The Net Profit increased by 22% at Rs. 92 million and Overall Cash Profit (PAT + Depreciation) increased by 31% to Rs. 287 million in Q1 FY '08 w.r.t. to FY '07.

Speaking on the results, Mr. Rajesh R. Mandawewala, Joint Managing Director said, “During this quarter, keeping in mind the environment we are in, W.I.L's performance is quite appreciable."

"Welspun along with Christy, U.K. and the Mexico facility is gearing to become the top player in Home Textile segment in the world."

"Last but not the least, with our turnover figure of Rs. 2,647 million and the position of one of the largest Home Textiles players in Asia, W.I.L is all set to become a global conglomerate in the true sense of the term”, he adds.
