Tempur-Pedic's Virginia facility certified ISO 9001:2000

Lexington, Kentucky based mattresses & neck pillows maker Tempur-Pedic International Inc announced the International Organization recently certified its Duffield, Virginia manufacturing facility for Standardization (ISO). This important designation states that the facility's manufacturing and development systems are in compliance with International Quality System Standard 9001:2000.
"Company is extremely proud of the employees in Duffield plant and their recent achievement," said Tom Bryant, President of Tempur-Pedic International Inc "The hard work and dedication of employees at this facility are critical in developing and manufacturing quality product for our consumers."
The Duffield facility's management systems for both manufacturing and development received ISO 9001:2000 certification for its outstanding quality control practices. The Duffield plant received this certification on July 27, 2005.
"The establishment of repeatable processes is critical to achieving effective manufacturing and top quality products," said Matt Clift, Executive Vice President of Operations. "The team in our Duffield plant should be very proud of this outstanding accomplishment. This will put the facility on the road to world class operations."
Tempur-Pedic International, Inc. currently operates the state-of-the-art 500,000 square-foot Duffield, Va. plant as well as a 500,000 square-foot, international facility in Aarup, Denmark. The Denmark plant also received ISO 9001:2000 certification in October 2004. Construction is underway for a third facility in Albuquerque, N.M. to be opened during the summer of 2006. The 750,000 square-foot Albuquerque plant will primarily service the western states, Mexico and South America.
