This was also very evident to Hartmut Schauerte, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology, who opened the fair together with the exhibition presidents Peter Schwartze, President of the Confederation of the German Textile and Fashion Industry, Detlef Braun, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt GmbH and Shammi Nagpal, Managing Director of Messe Frankfurt India.

Schauerte gave his assurance that the "German government will continue to provide the full range of foreign trade promotion programmes for trade with India. Our bilateral chamber of commerce abroad in Mumbai is the largest in worldwide network, with more than 6,000 member companies.

The "matchmaking" organized by the German Chamber of Commerce in India proved that it is the appropriate instrument for smoothing the path for the entry of German exhibitors into the Indian market.

Numerous company representatives also participated at additional events arranged by the fair organizer and established personal contacts with interested Indian companies. Cheryl D'Mello of the German-Indian Chamber of Commerce: "The industry is showing a great interest in the topic. The contact forum at the fair was busier than ever before."

Dr. Holger Erth from the Sächsisches Textilforschungsinstitut, was positively surprised by the interest in German testing services and certifications: "In the run-up to the fair we received a large number of e-mails and in recent months the number of orders from Indian companies has risen strongly.

The visitors that spoke to us were well prepared. We were able to further assist many of them. Most of these queries concerned certification, such as the certification of protective clothing. However, the trade visitors also showed an avid interest in topics such as the development of non-woven fabrics and in the production of hygiene products.
