Abhishek to set up new spinning-cum-textile facility at Budni

The upcoming plant at Budni was inaugurated by the Madhya Pradesh chief minister Mr Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Budni (Madhya Pradesh)on October 24, 2007.

The place is closer to areas growing fine quality varieties of cotton, which will give the cost advantage in spinning finer counts.

Besides a new yarn facility, the company is setting up a wide width sheeting plant with 400 looms and an installed capacity of producing 100000 metres per day.

“The new facility will provide us economies of scale and help in catering to the captive consumption by our textile division as well as the niche markets in India and abroad for maximum value addition”, said Mr Rajinder Gupta, CEO and Managing Director, Abhishek Industries.

Currently 40 per cent of the total cotton yarn produce is being used by the company's own terry towel division. The rest is exported and used for domestic markets.

The major domestic markets for Trident yarn include NCR, Ludhiana, Panipat, Mumbai, Bhilwara and Ahmedabad. The new facility will help develop new markets in central and other parts of India.

A large part of the 700 acres procured by the company at Budni will be used for agro-tech project. The land is on the banks of Narmada River with ample source of water and the climatic conditions are ideal for cultivation of number of agricultural crops and the area is well connected by road and rail.

The company is in the process of development of land and creation of basic infrastructure for establishing of modern agriculture farm on the pattern of HUB and SPOKE model for on farm training to the local farmers in modern technique of production.
