Additionally, by combining odor-control technology into the waterproof-breathable film layer, weight and bulk is reduced in the finished garments, allowing them to drape and move more freely. Omniflex is the only film manufacturer with exclusive rights to Natural Elements components in this patent pending, single-layer technology.
Waterproof-breathable, odor-control films in thicknesses ranging from 0.2 to 2.0 mils (5 to 50 microns) are flat-die cast onto polyethylene, polyester, or paper carriers in widths up to 68 inches (1.727 meters). Mid-performance waterproof-breathable blown films are extruded without carriers in thicknesses greater than 0.8 mils (20 microns) and widths up to 85 inches (2.159 meters).
Omniflex Transport odor-control films with Natural Elements technology have been tested under AATCC Method 100 and AATCC Method 147 and found to prevent the bacterial growth that can cause odors; they provide ongoing antimicrobial protection. Additionally, certain versions of these films prevent fungal growth, making them ideal for use in footwear applications.
