A healthy human spends approximately a third of their life sleeping. Medical research has recognized that without this nocturnal recovery a sound and active life is hard to obtain.
With this said, shouldn't bedding equipment adapt to the sleeping habits of the person. A new support for an optimum sleeping climate is now offered by the worldwide first PCM bed linen with the innovative Outlast technology. These bed linens help balance temperature changes and offer a pleasant temperature throughout nocturnal recovery.
Some prefer to sleep in the dorsal position while others may favour to sleep lying on their stomach – the sleeping position is very individual. The same is true for individual temperature sensitivity and how people sleep. Everyone is different but there are ways for all sleepers to have more sleeping comfort.
For example, having a fitting duvet and individually matched mattress allows for better comfort as well as the sleeping room climate. The optimal sleeping room temperature should be around 18°C with a relative humidity of 50% allowing the cardiovascular system and the tonicity to meet the needs for healthy sleep recovery.
As mentioned previously, everybody's sensitivity to temperature changes is different as, everyone sweats or becomes chilled at different rates. But the temperature corridor in which we feel comfortable is relatively narrow: when the body core temperature of 37°C fluctuates only 2°C to 3°C upwards or downwards we are subject to fever or hypothermia.
