Sewing maker Brother funds Red Cross for Katrina relief

Sewing machines maker Brother Industries Ltd has announced the Brother group including Brother Industries Ltd and Brother International Corporation (USA) will donate a total of US$150,000 (approximately 15 million yen) to the Red Cross to help with the relief efforts following the disaster caused by Hurricane Katrina which struck a devastating blow to the US Gulf Coast.
Brother's sales in the Americas, the largest market for Brother, account for 33.5 percent of its global sales for the year ended March 31, 2005.
Brother Industries Ltd is manufacturer of faxes, printers, sewing machines & other household electronic products. In 2004, it began production of machine tools.
