Ruddick's A&E buys out thread yarn spinning Co Jimei

Thomas W. Dickson, President and Chief Executive Officer of Ruddick, commented that, "Company has taken a number of key initiatives at A&E designed to expand their product line offerings, increase their global presence, and position themselves with sufficient manufacturing capacities in the ever growing textile and apparel market in Asia.”
In March, A&E acquired the industrial thread and specialty engineered yarn business of Ludlow Textiles Company and more recently the embroidery thread business of Robison-Anton Textile Co, expanding its product lines and market share in both markets. A&E also recently entered into a joint venture in the important market of Brazil, and is now increasing its production capacity in the fast growing China market.
A&E is a leading manufacturer and distributor of thread and specialty engineered yarns for worldwide industrial and consumer markets, with sales of $296 million in fiscal 2004.
