South African International Trade Exhibition, 13th SAITEX 2005, welcomes international exhibitor applications from makers and producers traders, importers, exporters and trade management service providers in government, finance and business.
Since its inception in 1993, SAITEX has successfully promoted increasing trade between the world and South African and African companies.
The Minerals Beneficiation Africa Conference 2005 will be held parallel to SAITEX 2005, which is managed by Kagiso Exhibitions and will take place from 27 - 30 September 2005. SAITEX is a multi-sectoral international business and trade fair with exhibitors representing industries such as textiles, automotive as well as food and beverages.
Beneficiation in essence, is the process of adding value to raw materials by manufacturing them into products that are marketable to a much wider range of consumers, both locally and internationally.
The Minerals Beneficiation Africa Conference will consist of conference presentations and open forum discussions between delegates, speakers and representatives from government.
The desired outcomes include:
• Generation of new export revenue
• Poverty eradication through the creation of new local jobs
• Skills development
• Encouraging the relocation of first world manufacturing capacity.
Participating companies and government departments include: DME, Chamber of Mines, Mintek, the DTI, Lonmin Platinum, Stellenbosch University, Trans Hex Group, Musuku Beneficiation Systems, Columbus Stainless Steel, Necsa, and Hullett Aluminium.
Manufacturers, merchandise traders, trade service providers in finance, business and related services, as well as national and regional government organisations and agencies participate as exhibitors in SAITEX. In 2004, more than 500 exhibitors, representing 26 different countries participated and used SAITEX as a global trade platform.
