Godrej SCA Hygiene Limited, with an equity capital of Rs.200 million, is a 50:50 Joint Venture between SCA and Godrej Consumer Products Limited (GPCL).
The JV Company formed in Mar 07 will manufacture and market paper based absorbent hygiene products, specifically sanitary napkins and baby diapers, in India, Nepal and Bhutan.
The sales and distribution will be taken care of by GPCL through its strong distribution network across India.
Since its incorporation, Godrej SCA Hygiene has introduced the sanitary napkin brand Libresse, adult diaper brand TENA and baby diaper brand Libero, from SCA's global portfolio.
These products that are currently sold on the Indian Market through GPCL's distribution network are imported.
The local production of these products will commence with the completion of the manufacturing plant in Nashik by end of 2008.
