Southeastern Converting Inc changes to Performance Fibers on acquisition

Southeastern Converting Inc in Winfield, Alabama has been renamed Performance Fibers by its new owner as a result of the acquisition by Performance Fibers Holdings Inc.
Performance Fibers, an affiliate of Sun Capital Partners Inc, acquired the plant from Diolen Industrial Fibers on Aug. 17 to increase the company's capacity and distribution of industrial fiber, as well as add fabric capability to its North American portfolio.
Greg Rogowski, President and Chief Executive Officer of Performance Fibers said that they are committed to growing our new operations in Alabama and investing at the two local sites to increase capacity, enhance productivity to increase our competitiveness in North America, and develop innovative new materials to bring to the industrial fibers marketplace.
Ricky Cook, Winfield Plant Manager and a local resident informed that Performance Fibers is a leading global company that knows our business, which will bring stability to our dedicated, hard-working workforce and future growth in our operations.
The purchase included the fabric-converting facility in Winfield at 227 Harvest St., previously known as Southeastern Converting, as well as the polyester industrial yarn-spinning operations located at 7526 Akzo Blvd. in Scottsboro. The name at the Scottsboro plant has also changed to Performance Fibers.
High-tenacity polyester supplier Performance Fibers is one of the world's leading suppliers and a global manufacturer of other man-made industrial fibers and fabrics. With manufacturing facilities in North America, Asia and Europe, its products are used in a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. Formed in December 2004, the business was formerly part of Honeywell International.
