The start of the joint enterprise is planned for January 1, 2006. The companies that in future will be operating under the names of 'Enia doo' and 'Enia OOO', will have a workforce of approximately 340 with 50 percent of the employees located in Backa Palanka in Serbia, and 50 percent in Kalush in the western Ukraine.
The rapidly growing and highly profitable company produces and markets more than 11 million sqm of tuft and needlefelt carpets and has its own extrusion capacity for polypropylene yarns. In taking this step, Enia will be developing the region of Europe representing the strongest growth potential with over 300 million inhabitants.
In addition to the leading market position that Enia Carpets enjoys in Western Europe, this step will add to its expansion in Eastern Europe. As a local manufacturer, 'Enia Eastern Europe 'enjoys a key market position in Russia – where almost half the revenue is earned – and in the Ukraine and the Balkan states.
Additional markets such as Rumania and Bulgaria, the next candidates for EU membership, are already exhibiting strong growth prospects. The company is in possession of a full range of modern equipment, that in addition to the variable tufting machines; also include state-of-the-art continuous dyeing and coating lines.
Thanks to its in-depth know-how, Enia is in a position to considerably strengthen and expand the medium and high-value market segment in the residential and commercial domain. Even in these countries, therefore, the trend that has been observed towards 'upgrading' will be taken fully into account. At the same time, the Enia Carpet Group will be enjoying a favourable production base that will give it a chance to gain the strategic competitive edge in the years to come.
