German company The Hänsel Company has been producing interlinings since 1908. The company is actve in textiles, nonwovens, adhesives and adhesive tape. In 1910 Hänsel became acquainted with horse hair for interlinings and Mr. Hänsel developed a machine and method to produce endless twisted horse hair yarn which was patented world wide. From 1870 "stiff linen" was used. This was mostly a plain woven fabric made from linen fibres with a starch finish.
