Tempur-Pedic signs Edelman as new agency of record

Lexington, Kentucky based mattresses & neck pillows maker Tempur-Pedic International Inc announced that it signed Edelman as its new agency of record. The company plans to utilize the resources of Edelman's Atlanta office to develop and implement a communications program that will build brand awareness for Tempur-Pedic's consumer products.
"They are excited to be working with Edelman as their partner in public relations," said Dany Sfeir, Senior Vice President of Marketing. "As their company continues to grow worldwide, their public relations needs are expanding. Edelman's vast resources and deep experience in consumer home products will be invaluable as their partner agency."
Edelman's House & Home practice, which is based in Atlanta, works with clients in all facets of the home furnishings industry, from manufacturing companies to retailers to industry associations. The team for Tempur-Pedic will be focused on creating opportunities for media to see new products and for the brand to interact with customers and consumers.
Tempur-Pedic issued an RFP for a public relations agency of record in July 2005 and conducted an exhaustive national search for the right partner.
Edelman is the world's largest independent public relations firm with 1,900 employees in 43 offices worldwide. Advertising Age recently profiled Edelman as one of their "Best Agencies in 2004" and The Holmes Report named Edelman the "2004 International Agency of the Year."
