ProLogis, a leading global provider of distribution facilities and services, announced that it has leased 145,000 square feet of industrial and office space in Portland, Oregon, to LaCrosse Footwear Inc.
The facility will serve as a new corporate headquarters for LaCrosse and also as a distribution center for the company's Danner line of shoes and boots.
The new facility will be built at SouthShore Corporate Park, a 230-acre industrial park operated by ProLogis in eastern Portland. LaCrosse currently occupies a 55,000-square-foot building in the park and will transition to the new facility once it is completed, expected to occur in June 2006.
"They are pleased to have partnered with ProLogis on the development of this facility, which will serve as an important foundation for future growth," said Joseph. P. Schneider, LaCrosse Footwear's President and Chief Executive Officer.
"As move forward, the new facility will allow us to efficiently meet the logistical challenges posed by the growth of business and to continue providing outstanding service to customers."
"LaCrosse Footwear's expansion is testament to the leadership position they have established as a manufacturer of premium footwear brands," said Dan Marcus, ProLogis Senior Vice President. "Company believe this facility will deliver substantial benefits to LaCrosse as they continue to increase the efficiency of their business and logistics operations."
ProLogis acquired SouthShore Corporate Park through its recently completed merger with Catellus Development Corporation. The park is located on Interstate 84 approximately five miles from Portland International Airport.
