Apparel Co Everest Fashions evades paying minimum wage
18 Apr '06

It is Government's duty to prevent a clothing company evading its obligation to pay workers the minimum wage or risk which others are paying.
Palmerston North-based Everest Fashions will not pay any allowances to its workers so as to avoid paying $10.25 worth minimum wage.
Greens' Industrial Relations Spokesperson Sue Bradford, said that the company does not have the right to treat its worker in this way.
This kind of action should be stopped immediately as other employer can do so in future to their workers.
By condemning Everest Fashion, Bradford said that company should feel ashamed.
