Entire second floor of a clothing store at Sahara Ganj shopping center in Lucknow city was gutted on Tuesday evening.
Sources pointed out that changing room of the store was where the fire had originated.
Over half-a-dozen people suffered suffocation and minor injuries even as security guards and helpers battled to quell the fire.
Injured were shifted to a private hospital although facts about loss to property were not known.
No reason has been attributed for the fire and investigations were on, declared the Sahara Ganj administration. The local fire fighting team came in and the fire was put off almost immediately.
Sources say that the shopping center will operate normally from the next working day.
