Addressing the oath taking of elected office-bearers of the Employees' Welfare Association at the office of the Punjab Technical Education Board (PTEB) recently, Minister for Trade, Industries and Investment Muhammad Ajmal Cheema, stated that the medical allowance of all the board's employees was being raised from 35 to 45 percent of their salary.
He also announced, a bonus of one month's basic salary and a 10 percent increase in the medical allowance to all employees of the Technical Education Board.
He asserted that financial assistance of Rs10,000 would be provided to the heirs in case of death of an employee.
Cheema confirmed that the government would increase the salaries of government servants in the coming budget.
The economy of the country was improving because of the concrete policies, and the government was taking requisite measures to control rising prices in the country, he said.
Pakistan's textile exports had raised by 200 percent in the last four years and about 600,000 motorcycles were currently manufactured as compared to 200,000 four years ago, and that the number would increase to 800,000 by the next year, he elaborated.
The minister added that the construction industry was growing quickly although experts in the field were 'direly needed.'
Others who had addressed the ceremony were Chairman Zia Haider Zaidi, Punjab Technical Education Board and Rana Muhammad Sarwar, President, Employees' Welfare Association.
