President of Textile, Clothing and Footwear Council, Ramesh Solanki rejected the claim made by an economist that textile workers are paid less.
In countries like China and Bangladesh, workers are paid less than the Fijian workers, who are paid more than US $1 an hour, contested Solanki.
He stated that country's garment factories were paying more than minimum stipulated wage standards.
