Government has received several complains on abuse of foreign workers in country's Qualifying Industrial Zones (QIZs), informed official of Ministry of Labour.
The US National Labour Committee criticized this violation of workers' right.
Ministry of Labour has also ensured to provide protection to foreign workers working in QIZs.
Workers have complained that they have to work for 109 hours a week including hour shift.
Ministry of Labour has started investigation and more than 10 companies are being investigated.
On the other hand, garment factories are facing crisis, factory owners stated.
Jordan Garment and Textiles Exporters (JGATE), the Foreign Investors Association and the Tajamouat Industrial Estate have stated that lack of foreign investment, frequent cancellation of orders etc have worsen the situation.
