Few days ago garment workers had ended their protests and strikes, now jute workers started to repeat the act of vandalism.
Jute workers organized a rally Khulna-Jessore region under the banner of Paatkal Sangram Parishad and backed by Jatiyatabadi Sramik Dal.
Workers asked Government to fulfill their eight-point demand.
Workers have broken glasses of many buildings and several rickshaw and cars were damaged completely.
The eight-point demand includes implementation of wage commission's recommendations, arrear wages, medical allowance, gratuity as approved by the pay commission, payment of dearness allowance, allocation of necessary funds in jute sector and reopening of all closed jute mills.
Jute workers associations alleged that authority's behaviour toward jute workers is partial.
