Workers of Chandrodaya Textile compensated

Union Textile Ministry has released compensation of Rs1.27 crore for 350 employees of Sri Chandrodaya Textile Mill.

Chandrodaya mill was shut down eight years before when there were 433 employees, of which 83 had been paid and rest 350 workers have been waiting for compensation.

Compensation announced by Ministry will be paid through Central Bank of India.

Workers formed labour sangh named Chandrodaya Textile Mill Labour Gelaraya Balaga when mill was closed.

This union discussed the issue with many Union Ministers and textile department bureaucrats for justice and compensation.

Now, labour union is trying to get the central insurance cover called Rajiv Gandhi Sharmik Udyog Yojan. As the average age of the employees at the time of closure of mill was 48 years, they would be considered retired.
