Sagnik Roy who dreamed of excelling in academics has become a partial owner of US $600 million industrial venture, Yongtong Group which has 33 textile units, jade queries and so on. It is jointly owned by his Chinese wife, in-laws and family friends along with himself.

He had gone to China for further studies as part of a cultural exchange programme in 1990 and was deprived of $200 quota due to some confusion with paperwork on foreign exchange.

In Kolkata, he is going to make his first investment in an industrial project worth $11 million through Txyco Ltd, a joint venture project which will manufacture computer hardware.

Called 'Son-in-law' of China, he says that it was thrilling to see the amount of opportunities available here. He had to wait for six years to strike a big deal and more deals followed after that.
