The Taat Shilpa Rakkha Sangram Parishad has stated the miseries of the time-honored loom industry and weavers and urged the government to take all sorts of necessary measures to protect the biggest manual industry of the country.
Potential industry has reached a critical juncture of its existence due to lack of state assistance and recognition.
The key adversities which obstruct the expansion of loom industry are negligence of the government, inactiveness of the Loom Board, absence of banking policy for providing loans, tyranny of the dishonest business syndicate, increasing thread price, deprivation from obtaining fair price of the produced commodities and power and gas crisis.
For saving the loom industry from its wretched condition and utilizing its potentialities, Parishad have put forward some proposals and demands to government.
They would go for tougher programmes, if the government does not pay heed to their demands within 15 days.
