Skills and Development Outreach Programme under the Ministry of Enterprise and Employment was recently inaugurated at Esibayeni Lodge, which was attended by Taiwanese Ambassador Leonard Chao, Minister of Enterprise and Employment Lutfo.
According to Chao, such a programme was important for the development of out-of-school youth, adults who were less privileged to train yet required the skills and the physically challenged who could not afford to further their academic education.
He praised the National Handicraft Training Centre (NHTC) instructors for undertaking the project, equipping participants with relevant skills and creating jobs for Swazi human resource development.
Training provided by the centre includes training in electrical plumbing, metal work and machinery, general sewing and dress design, as well as computer and word processing.
Chao also appreciated all government ministries and community members for their support and contribution extended to Taiwan Technical Mission.
Funds for implementation of the project are obtained from the Republic of China on Taiwan government.
