  • Vietnam and Australia have signed an MoU to optimise the benefits of FTAs that will help farmers and businesses expand their global reach and pursue sustainable growth.
  • The proposed FTA ecosystem model will function as a network connecting parties involved in the value chain, from producers, processors, distributors, logistics operators, associations, financial institutions and government agencies.
The Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade and Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Hanoi to optimise the benefits of free trade agreements (FTAs).

The MoU was signed by Vietnamese Deputy Minister handling the portfolio Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan and Australian ambassador to Vietnam Gillian Bird within the framework of the consultation workshop to draw contributions to the development of the FTA ecosystem.

The MoU will help farmers and businesses expand their global reach and pursue sustainable growth, according to Vietnamese media reports.

The proposed FTA ecosystem model will function as a comprehensive network connecting parties involved in the value chain, from producers, processors, distributors, logistics operators, associations, financial institutions and government agencies.

The model aims at creating a culture of connectivity, information sharing and mutual support to enable enterprises to optimise FTA benefits.

The ecosystem is expected to expand and diversify Vietnam’s export markets, attract foreign investment, improve productivity and accelerate the shift toward a green and sustainable growth model.
