Saudi Arabia’s Makkah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) recently signed a memorandum of understanding in Mecca to promote bilateral trade and investment.

MCCI acting secretary general Essmat Matoog and DCCI president Mohammad Sameer Sattar signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organisations.

MCCI member Abdullah Gadi invited Bangladesh businessmen to participate in the development and expansion plans taking place in Mecca. Sattar led a 61-member business delegation there, according to a news agency from Bangladesh.

Both sides can explore a mutually beneficial economic synergy to cooperate in transforming the development visions of each other, Sattar said.

Saudi enterprises can explore investing in Bangladesh, leveraging the latter’s cost-efficient export potential and facilitate re-export to global markets, he added.
