Bangladesh’s National Board of Revenue (NBR) recently announced that submission of certificates, licenses and permits (CLPs) for import and export consignments was made mandatory through the Bangladesh Single Window (BSW) system beginning today for 19 government agencies.

BSW is an online platform through which importers and exporters can apply for and automatically receive all CLPs required for goods clearance.

It is designed to eliminate human interaction in government processes and reduce time and cost associated with importing and exporting goods.

Users need to register in the BSW system using their business identification number.

As of June 30, 2025, the number of automatically issued CLPs through the BSW system exceeded 389,015. Of these, 85.97 per cent were issued in less than one hour, and 94.63 per cent in less than a day, according to domestic media reports.
