Cambodia’s fabric imports from China surged 31.48 per cent to $3,574.815 million in January–October 2024, reflecting higher manufacturing activity driven by strong global apparel demand. However, the share of fabric imports in Cambodia’s total textile imports from China dipped slightly.

According to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro, Cambodia’s fabric imports were valued at $2,718.787 million in the first ten months of 2023. In January–October 2024, fabric imports accounted for 90.86 per cent of the total textile imports of $3,934.532 million, compared to 91.11 per cent during the same period last year. Yarn imports increased to $353.931 million (9 per cent), while fibre imports were $5.784 million (0.15 per cent).

In 2023, Cambodia imported $3,603.120 million worth of textiles from China, comprising $3,300.888 million (91.61 per cent) in fabric, $296.744 million (8.24 per cent) in yarn, and $5.486 million (0.15 per cent) in fibre. Textile imports in 2022 were valued at $3,795.499 million, including $3,493.074 million (92.03 per cent) in fabric, $297.528 million (7.84 per cent) in yarn, and $4.896 million (0.13 per cent) in fibre.

In 2021, Cambodia’s textile imports from China were $3,498.754 million, comprising $3,265.923 million (93.35 per cent) in fabric, $225.912 million (6.46 per cent) in yarn, and $6.917 million (0.20 per cent), as per TexPro.

Over the four-year period from 2021 to 2024, the share of fabric in Cambodia’s textile imports has declined from 93.35 per cent to 90.86 per cent, indicating a shift in import patterns. During the same period, yarn imports increased from 6.46 per cent to 9 per cent.
