The pace of growth edged up by 0.1 percentage points compared to the January–April period.
Exports rose by 7.2 per cent to 10.67 trillion yuan, while imports declined by 3.8 per cent to 7.27 trillion yuan over the five-month span, said Chinese media reports quoting the GAC.
For May alone, trade expanded by 2.7 per cent year on year, with exports growing by 6.3 per cent and imports contracting by 2.1 per cent.
