China's exports rise 6.1% & imports increase 6.4% in Jan-May 2024

Overall, the country's total goods imports and exports grew by 6.3 per cent in yuan terms during this period. The total foreign trade in goods amounted to 17.5 trillion yuan (approximately $2.46 trillion), with exports contributing 9.95 trillion yuan and imports reaching 7.55 trillion yuan.

The foreign trade saw an 8.6 per cent increase in May, reaching 3.71 trillion yuan, as per Chinese media reports.
