Chinese home textile exports to the Middle East increased by 5.95 per cent to $1.790 billion during the first ten months of last year. It accounted for 5.98 per cent of Chinese total exports of home textiles in the period under review. The shipment to the Middle East was noted at $1.689 billion during January-October 2022, according to Fibre2Fashion’s market insight tool TexPro.
Out of the total Chinese home textile export of $29.941 billion, the share of North America was 34.05 per cent, Asia Pacific 32.04 per cent, Europe 18.44 per cent, Africa 5.56 per cent, and Central & South America 3.92 per cent. The shipment to North America declined by 11.43 per cent to $10.196 billion during the first ten months of 2023 from $11.512 billion in the corresponding period of 2022. Home textile exports to Asia-Pacific were $9.589 billion, a decline of 15.39 per cent. Similarly, the shipment declined to Europe $45.522 billion (a 12.88 per cent decrease), Africa $1.664 billion (a 1.07 per cent decrease) and Central & South America $1.171 billion (a 17.04 per cent decrease), as per TexPro.
During 2022, China exported home textiles worth $39.860 billion, out of which the Asia-Pacific's share was 33.95 per cent. The share of North America was 33.28 per cent, Europe 18.53 per cent, the Middle East 5.14 per cent, Africa 5.04 per cent, and Central & South America 4.06 per cent of the total.
