China's textile & apparel exports rise 4.3% in Sept '17

Registering an increase of 4.3 per cent year-on-year, the exports of textiles and apparel from China stood at $23.750 billion in September 2017, according to the statistics released by the General Administration of Customs. While textile exports soared 16.2 per cent to $8.970 billion, apparel exports fell 1.7 per cent to $14.780 billion during the month.
 
The value of apparel exports from China declined for the second consecutive month in September 2017.
 
During the first three quarters of 2017, cumulative textile and garment exports from China totalled $198.520 billion, showing an increase of 0.9 per cent year-on-year. Of this, textile exports were up 2.9 per cent to $80.660 billion, whereas clothing exports decreased 0.9 per cent to $117.860 billion. (RKS)
