Egypt is developing an advanced and integrated export system, similar to the logistics services centers developed for imports, Minister of Finance Ahmed Kouchouk and Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Hassan El Khatib recently said.

The system will follow the best global practices and standards to facilitate procedures for exporters, especially in light of the rise in export support allocations to LE45 billion in this fiscal’s budget to enhance global competitiveness of Egyptian products.

The ‘Nafeza’ platform, which will use artificial intelligence (AI) to streamline export procedures and facilitate customs workflow, covers over 130 customs locations and links 35 government agencies.

A new project is also under way to improve the working environment for export procedures in ports, both said in a joint statement.

The implementation of advanced inspection and examination units in export yards has already started raising the efficiency of logistics services, ensuring the units are environment friendly and expandable to keep pace with the growth in exports, according to domestic media reports.
