Italy's exports to non-EU27 nations dip 7.2% YoY in Sep, imports 32.3%

Italy’s exports to non-European Union (EU) 27 countries decreased by 7.2 per cent year on year (YoY) in September this year and imports dropped by 32.3 per cent YoY, according to the country’s official statistics agency Istat.

Seasonally adjusted, such exports decreased by 6.9 per cent month on month (MoM) and imports dropped by 2.1 per cent MoM.

Over the last three months, seasonally-adjusted data compared with the previous three months showed a 0.5 per cent increase in outgoing flows and a 4.4 per cent decrease in incoming flows.

In September this year, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of €2,780 million compared to a deficit of €5,430 million in September last year. Excluding energy, the surplus was equal to €8,273 million—up compared with a €6,666-million surplus in September last year.
