Italy’s exports to non-European Union (non-EU27) countries decreased by 2.1 per cent year on year (YoY) in February this year, and imports from such countries increased by 8.6 per cent YoY, according to preliminary data from the official statistical agency Istat.

In seasonally-adjusted terms, exports rose by 2.8 per cent and imports by 0.8 per cent month on month in February.

Seasonally-adjusted exports and imports increased by 3.9 per cent and 6.7 per cent quarter on quarter respectively in the quarter to February 2025, an Istat release said.

In February, the trade balance with non-EU27 countries registered a surplus of €4,707 million compared with a surplus of €6,885 million in February 2024. Excluding energy, the surplus was €9,508 million, down compared with a €10,664-million surplus in February 2024.
