Italy's non-EU-27 exports rise by 6.6% YoY in Mar 2023: Istat

In March 2023, Italy’s exports to non-European Union (EU)-27 countries increased by 6.6 per cent and imports decreased by 28.1 per cent on a year-on-year (YoY) basis, as per preliminary survey data from the Italian National Institute of Statistics (Istat).

In seasonally adjusted terms, exports decreased by 4.6 per cent and imports decreased by 12.9 per cent in March 2023 compared with that in February 2023. Over the last three months, seasonally adjusted data, compared with the previous three months, showed a 1.3 per cent increase in outgoing flows and a 19.2 per cent decrease in incoming flows.

The trade balance with non-EU-27 countries in March 2023 registered a surplus of €8,455 million compared to a deficit of €793 million in March 2022. Excluding energy, the surplus was equal to €13,780 million, compared with a €7,753 million surplus in March 2022.
