Textile & clothing exports to EU continue ascent

China's textile and garment exports to the EU reached US $4.48 billion in May; an increase of 32.8 percent year on year, but the growth rate fell 11 percent from April.

Of which, textile exports stood at $1.1 billion, up 19 percent and apparel exports were $3.4 billion, a growth of 38 percent.

From January to May this year, China's exports to the EU clocked $18.36 billion, up 27.9 percent year on year.

Of which, textile exports fetched $4.9 billion, up 24.6 percent and clothing shipments achieved $13.46 billion, a rise of 29.1 percent.

Unit prices of exports to the EU continued to gain, with price of yarn rising by 53 percent and those of knitted and woven garments growing by 25.2 percent.
