Textile exports of Spanish autonomous community of Valencia have increased by 16.1 percent between January and June 2011 and reached 363 million euros, Alberto Fabra, President of the Valencian Generalitat said during the presentation of the NUDE-Bancaja 2011 scholarships to young designers.

The New International Design Show, NUDE, is designed to encourage young and aspiring designers, and to introduce them to the textile industry.

The President said the growth in textile exports was achieved due to the Valencian commitment to innovation, design and quality.

As per government data, the Valencian region was the second largest exporter in 2010 contributing 19.4 percent to national exports. The region was fourth in textile sector exports accounting for 7.3 percent of the country's total exports.
