Pakistan Cotton Ginners' Association (PCGA) revealed that cotton inflow reached beyond 11 million mark on January 1, 2006, but 14.17 percent lower than last year's 13.102 million bales.
Textile mills purchased 8.517 million bales of total output of 11.246 million bales, and private exporters purchased 59,700 bales, while Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) remained passive during the buying activity.
The unsold stock at ginneries has been estimated at above 2.668 million bales on January 1, 2005, said PCGA.
With a decline of 12.97 percent compared to preceding year's production from Sindh registered around 2.349 million bales, Punjab registered 8.896 million bales output; a drop of 14.48 percent.
