with earning from vietnamese textile-garment export up during the first four months of the year at us $1.32 billion, the figures indicates steady rise in demand of goods from the country.

yet, the growth was six percent was a shade dull in comparision with 18-20 percent during the same period last yearand way below the targetted growth of 18-20 percent during 2005.

going by the current state of affiars, the ministry of industry has forecast earning worth us $5.2 billion from textile-garment exports this year.

the reason attributed for this is the expiry of textile quotas, spiralling production costs, delayed execution of overseas orders, and short supply of raw materials.

the us authorities have already imposed restrictions on certain categories of textiles and apparels from china and the industry feels that this is the right time to gear up and make the most of the prevailing opportunity for manufacturers and exporters from the country to pick orders from there and execute them in time to expect more business.
