Tajikistan succeeded in achieving a rise of 15.8 percent year-on-year in its textile and clothing output during last year.
Tajikistan's textile and clothing production crossed 1.4 billion somoni (US$ 292.3 million) during the 12 month period.
The rise in production of the country's textile and clothing sector is mainly attributable to an increase in production of carpet, shoes, nonwovens, hosiery and cotton yarn.
In 2011, Tajikistan's textile exports increased marginally by US$ 4.9 million or 1.9 percent year-on-year to US$ 237.3 million.
