Overall Chinese overseas trade climbs in Q1

In January to March this year, overall China's import and export value reached US $859.37 billion, an increase of 7.3 percent from a year earlier.

Of this, exports clocked $430.02 billion, up 7.6 percent and imports fetched $429.35 billion, a rise of 6.9 percent. Cumulative trade surplus reached $670 million.

Among various products, apparel exports marked $29.57 billion, up 3.9 percent, while textile shipments stood at $20.44 billion, an increase of 1.4 percent.

In March alone, overseas trade reached $325.97 billion, a rise of 7.1 percent year on year. Of which, exports stood at $165.66 billion, up 8.9 percent and imports realized $160.31 billion, climbing up by 5.3 percent.
